In 2009, Lance Thompson had an idea: to organize a 100-mile overnight relay run to raise money for Batten disease research. Throughout the night, participants would run in the dark through the Texas Hill Country, simulating the blindness faced by children with Batten disease. The race would finish at sunrise with a celebration filled with hope and inspiration. His idea became a reality and over the past four years, the Run to the Sun Relay has raised more than $1 million for Batten disease research. THANK YOU to Lance for sharing your Jenyis with us! Save the date for next year’s relay–April 11-12, 2015!
